A garden should be more than just outdoor space — it’s an extension of your home and lifestyle. At North Somerset Kitchen Tops & Landscaping, we recently completed a full garden revamp on a new build property in Wellington near Taunton. The results were absolutely stunning, showcasing how expertly designed stone paving, edging, steps, raised planters, and patios can completely transform a blank canvas into a multi-level outdoor retreat.
The Project: Complete New Build Garden Revamp
This local job was a complete strip out and renewal for a new build property. The garden was redesigned and tiered into three distinct levels, each crafted with precision and style:
✅ Lower Level – Porcelain Patio with Dwarf Wall & Planters
The base level was finished with sleek white porcelain paving slabs, chosen for their durability and modern aesthetic. To add structure and definition, we installed dwarf walls and steps, all beautifully rendered in crisp white. The built-in planters feature elegant coping tiles, each expertly cut and bullnosed (rounded edges) by our skilled team at North Somerset Kitchen Tops for a flawless, professional finish.
✅ Middle Level – Elevated Fresh Lawn with Stepping Stones
The second level introduced a fresh, lush green lawn, bringing warmth and contrast to the hard landscaping. To connect the spaces seamlessly, inlaid porcelain stepping stones were set into the grass, offering both practicality and visual flow.
✅ Top Level – Patio & Planting Areas
At the highest tier, we created a stunning patio space, perfect for relaxing or entertaining. Framed by stone planting beds to the sides and rear, this level provides structure and colour while completing the garden’s elegant multi-layered design.
The Finishing Touches
From the crisp lines of the porcelain paving to the rounded bullnose edges and carefully integrated planting spaces, every detail was designed with both practicality and luxury in mind. The transformation was so dramatic that the homeowners now have a truly show-stopping outdoor space that complements their home beautifully.

Plan drainage, levels and maintenance
Discuss existing levels, drainage, access and intended use before choosing paving. Select products with documented suitability for outdoor use and the required slip and frost performance. Correct sub-base preparation, bedding and jointing matter alongside appearance.
Textured surfaces still need cleaning. Follow the supplier’s maintenance advice and use sealers only where suitable for the selected product. Sealing is not a substitute for drainage or regular care.
